Project details

Location Bloomfield Terrace, London, SW1
Size Residential property
Duration 9 Months

Overview

A substantial residential property just a few minutes walk from Sloane Square, built in 1840. This Grade II listed building required substantial internal & external refurbishment from the lower ground floor up to the third floor, to meet the requirements of a modern day family home. Great care was taken to design the project that would satisfy Grosvenor Estates, English Heritage and the City of Westminster.

Client objectives

To transform a property in need of restoration, into a beautiful and elegant home that would provide all the modern conveniences and technology expected from a luxury property in the heart of London.

What we did

The basement floor level was reduced and a new rear extension was built to provide additional living space. The property required substantial strengthening by introducing a new steel frame from the basement up to roof level, requiring careful negotiations for Party Wall Awards.

Internally the property was stripped back as far as possible to create new reception rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, study, library and conservatory. A great deal of care and attention was taken to ensure the original features and character of the property was not compromised by the scope of works.

Without Workplace Concepts support and professional advice the project would not have reached such a successful outcome.
