Stent Foundations is a leading specialist in ground engineering, who design and construct foundations for all types of buildings, structures and civil engineering works. They provide a wide range of piling techniques include rotary bored, CFA, precast driven and retaining wall piling. In addition they carry out diaphragm walling and ground improvement utilising environmental techniques.

Workplace Concepts were commissioned to provide a complete design and project management service for creating a new head office (10,752 sq ft over ground and first floors). The general scope of works include:

Due Diligence - pre-acquisition surveys:

• Detailed dimensional survey & place the building on Auto CAD
• Building survey
• Mechanical & Electrical validation
• Below ground Drainage CCTV survey
• DDA (Disabled & discrimination audit)

Pre-tender:

• Develop the Client's requirements
• Concept & detailed design
• Tender the works

Contract:

• Form new entrance to the building

• Build new solid and full height silicon jointed glazed partitions
• Suspended ceiling modifications
• Form new cellular offices, meeting rooms, boardroom, conference room, reception area, staff breakout and computer room
• New raised access floor
• Refurbished the existing male and female core toilets
• Extensive alterations and enhancements to the mechanical and electrical services.
• Installed new air conditioning (VRV) and fresh systems through the building
• Infrastructure voice and data cabling (VIP)
• Comprehensive CCTV and access control systems
• Floor and wall finishes
• Furniture installation
• Office furniture and equipment relocation

Post-contract:

• Maintenance agreements

Points of interest: The existing entrance to the building was via the side elevation. A new entrance and canopy to the building was designed and located at the end of the building. Creating a focal point to the building and ensuring the best use of the internal office area.
