Client Background: RFI Global Services Limited, a worldwide leading provider of testing, approvals and product development services. RFI-Cellular has operations and representation throughout the globe and prides itself on providing a range of high quality services to mobile phone and base station manufacturers, and network operators.

Providing a complete design and project management service for creating a new head office (17,500 sq ft Over ground and first floors), involved the relocation of two separate locations into one building over 9 weeks. The general scope of works included:

Due Diligence - pre-acquisition surveys:

• Detailed dimensional survey & place building on Auto CAD
• Building survey
• Mechanical & Electrical validation
• Below ground Drainage CCTV survey
• DDA (Disabled & discrimination audit)

Pre-tender:

• Develop the Client's requirements
• Concept & detailed design
• Tender the works

Contract:

• Build new solid and glazed partitions
• Suspended ceiling modifications
• Form new cellular offices, meeting rooms, boardroom, reception area, staff breakout, computer room, electrical test laboratories, and specialist shielded chambers.
• Refurbished the existing male and female core toilets
• Extensive alterations and enhancements to the mechanical and electrical services.
• Infrastructure voice and data cabling (VIP)
• Comprehensive CCTV and access control systems
• Floor and wall finishes
• Furniture installation
• Office furniture and equipment relocation

Post-contract:

• Maintenance agreements

Points of interest: The construction of new electrical test laboratories and shielded chambers to house specialist equipment together with supporting services were critical elements to get absolutely correct, to ensure the successful completion of the project.
