InterRoute provides term maintenance and related services working predominantly for the Highways Agency and Local Authorities.
Workplace Concepts provided a complete design and project management service for creating a new head quarters office (25,500 sq ft, over ground to third floors). The general scope of works include:
Due Diligence - pre-acquisition surveys:
- Building survey
- Mechanical & Electrical validation
- Below ground Drainage CCTV survey
- DDA (Disabled & discrimination audit)
Pre-tender:
- Develop the Client's requirements
- Concept & detailed design
- Tender the works
Contract:
- Build new solid and full height glazed partitions
- Suspended ceiling modifications
- Form new cellular offices, specialist incident room, meeting rooms, boardroom, conference room, reception area, staff breakout and computer room
- Extension alterations and enhancements to the electrical services.
- Modification and enhancements to the air conditioning system (four pipe fancoil system)
- Emergency standby generator, ups and fire suppression systems to the computer room
- Infrastructure voice and data cabling (VIP)
- Comprehensive CCTV and access control systems
- Floor and wall finishes
- Furniture procurement and installation
Post-contract:
- Maintenance agreements
Points of interest: An essential part of the project was the design development of a specialist monitoring and incident room. This facility allows InterRoute staff to monitor cameras on the highways and action emergency procedures in the event of accidents. Operational 24 hrs, seven days a week, 365 days of a year. The constant monitoring of major roads provides a critical service to the Highways Agency. Therefore UPS and standby generator supports these rooms and computer room, ensuring monitoring continuity is maintained in the event of power failure to the building.
