Workplace Concepts were appointed by Areva T & D Ltd to provide a turnkey service for creating a new head quarters office. The general scope of works included:
Due Diligence – pre-acquisition surveys:
- Detailed dimensional survey & place building on Auto CAD
Pre-tender:
- Develop the Client’s requirements
- Concept & detailed design
- Negotiate work packages
Contract:
- Build new solid and full height silicon jointed glazed partitions
- Suspended ceiling modifications
- Form new cellular offices, meeting room, computer room and tea point
- Alterations and enhancements to the existing building services to facilitate the general arrangement
- Provide comfort cooling to the boardroom and computer room
- Infrastructure voice and data cabling (CAT 6)
- Installation of new intruder alarm
- Floor and wall finishes
- Relocate Clients office furniture and equipment from Tilford House to Frensham House
Post-contract:
- Maintenance agreements
Points of interest: It was essential to Areva T & D Ltd’s business activity that they did not lose any downtime from their computer systems. The first activity to be done in this tight fitting out programme was to build a fully operational computer room before changeover could take place over a weekend.
